How does the free trial work?
Download Dictera and use every feature free for 14 days - no card and no account needed. When the trial ends, subscribe to keep going; your settings and history stay right where they are.
How many Macs can I use one license on?
One license activates on up to 3 Macs. You can deactivate a Mac at any time from the app's License settings to free up a slot.
What does the Enterprise plan include?
Enterprise is for teams that need more than three seats: volume licensing, centralized billing with invoicing, priority support, and help rolling Dictera out across your organization. Pricing is tailored to your team size - email us and we'll put together a quote.
Is my voice data really private?
Yes. Speech recognition, cleanup, and translation run entirely on your Mac - your audio never leaves your device, and by default your text is never sent to us or anyone else. There are two exceptions, and both are things you have to set up yourself: connecting your own cloud AI provider with your own API key, or enabling the Claude Code engine, which signs in with your own Claude account and lets the assistant read a folder you choose. Dictera warns you before you enable either. The only data we handle is what's needed to sell and activate your license. See the Privacy Policy.
Can I cancel or get a refund?
You can cancel anytime from the customer portal and keep access until the end of the paid period. And if you're not satisfied, you can request a full refund within 14 days of any charge - your first one or a renewal - no questions asked. See our Refund Policy.
What happens when my trial ends?
Dictation, translation, text correction and the AI Assistant stop until you subscribe. Nothing you've made is taken away: your history, statistics, custom vocabulary and saved assistant sessions stay readable and exportable, and your settings are exactly where you left them.
What are the system requirements?
macOS 26 or later. Dictera is designed for Apple Silicon, and automatic updates require it. The on-device speech and AI models run locally on your Mac - the larger ones need a few gigabytes of free disk space, which the app shows you before downloading.
